Please take a look at this movie from when fiskejournalen visited us.
Tjärnheden is one of the worlds largest so called dead ice areas. The square distance of 10 kilometers is located south of Abborrträsk. A very large iceblock broke loose and got left behind melting after the ice age, this created as many lakes as there are days in year on a very small area. We got amazing fishing lakes with big char, salmon trout and white fish. A lookout tower, lovely bath lakes and the nature reserv "Pellobäcken", with old pine dominating wildwood. You can find som pine with no bark, this is a mark made of the Samit people. They dried the bark and used it as a spice and nutritional supplements.
